Paul Rayson is Business Development Director and Member of the Board

Paul Rayson has been a Board member of Bluebox Aviation Systems Ltd since 2017, and from October 2021 joined the Management team to assume leadership of Business Development and Account Management activities.

Paul started his aviation-related career at British Aerospace in Bracknell, England, selling avionics equipment both within the group and into aerospace OEMs globally, and progressing his career with a number of sales, marketing and commercial management roles.

Paul subsequently joined the world’s largest airline schedule distribution company, Official Airline Guides (OAG), where he became Senior VP of the combined Global Airline business in the late 1990’s following its acquisition by RELX. Paul was a member of the Board and was responsible for selling the business in 2001.

In 2002, Paul became Managing Director of an information and consultancy Business, growing the turnover and profitability and eventually leading its sale to FlightGlobal. In 2006 Paul Joined Jane’s, the defence data information and consultancy business, and went on to hold various commercial roles across group as it expanded through acquisition in a variety of sectors. And in 2014, Paul returned to FlightGlobal and led Board level focus on developing its data supply strategy supported by acquisition of suitable businesses.

In 2016, Paul was appointed as Managing Director of the DMD Group, a division of Smiths News Plc. DMD, the world’s leading distributor of newspapers, magazines, digital publications and multimedia content to the world’s airlines and airports, was the joint venture partner in Bluebox Avionics along with AviIT. In addition to significant restructuring of the core business, Paul managed the DMD implementation of the restructure of the joint venture and from 2017 became a Board member for the newly formed Bluebox Aviation Systems Ltd.

Paul Holds a BA in Business Studies from University of Portsmouth, England.
