Onboard Hospitality hosted a discussion with Bluebox, PLAY and MOST about the benefits and complexities involved in deploying an end-to-end digital retail experience

As part of Onboard Hospitality’s ‘coffee break’ video series, Editor Stuart Forster hosted a roundtable discussion with PLAY Airlines‘ CCO Sonja Arnórsdóttir, Bluebox’s CEO Kevin Clark, and MOST‘s CCO, James Kelly, about the deployment of an end-to-end retail solution onboard PLAY Airlines.

The solution for PLAY involves the integration of Bluebox’s Blueview digital onboard retail solution for the passenger-facing digital retail interface, delivered to their personal devices from a wireless network provided by the Bluebox Wow wireless network system, with the airline’s retailing and payment platforms, provided by their retailing partner MOST.

Essentially a case study for deploying a digital retail platform, the conversation highlighted some of the complexities – but also the rewards – of fitting the right technologies together, and explored the evolving landscape of onboard retail and the transformation of passenger experiences.

The importance of collaboration featured strongly as a thread throughout the discussion, with Sonja, James and Kevin chatting amicably about the experience of working together to ensure the best solution possible for PLAY and its passengers.
